Go West! chosen to represent New Mexico at the National Book Festival in Washington, D.C.
Joel Nakamura‘s award-winning children’s book, Go West!, has been chosen by New Mexico State Library staff as the book which will represent New Mexico in the Pavilion of the States at the 16th Library of Congress National Book Festival in Washington, D.C in September of this year.
The National Book Festival is sponsored by the Library of Congress, Center for the Book and will take place Saturday, September 24 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. Each year every state highlights a children’s or young adult book that is about the state or by an author from the state. In a letter to the author and the book’s publisher, Leaf Storm Press, New Mexico State Librarian, Kathleen Moeller-Peiffer, wrote: “Many New Mexicans and New Mexico librarians have read and enjoyed Go West!. We are delighted to feature it as New Mexico’s National Book Festival selection for 2016.”
