Sarah Stark grew up in the Austin, Texas area among readers and teachers and football enthusiasts. After graduating cum laude with a B.A. in Foreign Service from Baylor University, she earned an M.A. in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia. As a foreign policy analyst in Washington, D.C., she wrote about international security issues, including nuclear nonproliferation and peacekeeping. For the last 14 years Sarah has made her home in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where she currently teaches literature and creative writing at the Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA). She is happily married and the mother of four wonderful children.
